The small village of Rodebay was founded by Dutch whalers who came here during the summer seasons.
Today it is a popular tour destination for visitors to the area.
The whalers came here for a good reason - whales are numerous along the Greenland coastline. This small whale was spotted just North of Rodebay, coming to the surface to breathe.
Some of the icebergs that are produced by the Ilulissat Glacier head North along the Greenland coast, and pass Rodebay.
These large icebergs make an impressive background for Rodebay and remind you that nature is very much in charge in this part of the World.
